POLISH YOUNGSTER RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL - posted 6 August 2012

Spectators at yesterday’s European junior riders’ championship at Ipswich were left stunned and concerned after a Polish youngster was involved in an horrific crash.

Leszno rider Kamil Naskret lay motionless on the track after colliding with the safety fence in his opening race in the grand final.  Ipswich’s first aid team immediately rushed to the aide prone rider before calling in paramedics and an ambulance.

Kamil was taken to the Ipswich hospital with suspected head and neck injuries.  Thankfully the Polish teenager was later released with nothing but severe bruising.

Ipswich chairman Jamie Goldsmith spoke to Kamil after he left hospital.

“Kamil as no fractures or broken bones and although a little bit sore

will be ok.  The members of Ipswich Eagles all signed get well messages on the blank pages of a programme as well as an Ipswich Eagles polo shirt.  Jordan Stant has kindly gifted one of his race shirts as a momento to hopefully banish that awful moment and remember Ipswich a bit more favourably” said Jamie.

“Also, thank you to everyone who attended the event for their patience during the incident whilst waiting for the paramedic and ambulance to arrive, assess and transport Kamil from the track to hospital.  It really was appreciated by all involved” he added.
